New Year's Kids Confetti and Dragon Craft!

Save all of your scrap paper from Christmas. Don't throw away all that wrapping paper this year! We do this craft every year and it is great for the little ones. Save your paper and let the little ones cut out different confetti shapes and then they can throw it all over come New Year's! Also, check out these New Year Chinese Dragons the little ones will love this craft!

Materials

The dozens of toilet paper tubes were cut in half  and paper towel tubes were cut into sixths.

Poked holes in all the cup bottoms with an old seam ripper. You can also use scissors or a tack.

Cut a piece of yarn about 12-14 inches and double knot the end. Start threading first a cup, then a tube, cup, then tub, etc. until you’ve threaded all 6 or 7 cups. The last cup does not need a tube. Double knot the end.

When I first started making them, I used 7 cups (and 6 tubes) per dragon, but quickly switched to 6 cups (and 5 tubes) so I could make more dragons.

After strung together I hole-punched the first cup near the rim, and the third to last cup.

Then I cut two strings in equal length in the desired length you’d like your puppet to hang.

Tie a tight double knot to of one of the strings to the first hole-punched hole of the first cup. This is going to be the head of the dragon.

Tie the other end of the string to a stick. I used free paint stirrers from Home Depot. They were very nice about giving me a large quantity.

Do the same with the second string except tie one end to the third to last cup and the other end to the stick/paint stirrer.

Now it’s time to decorate. I printed out dragon faces on colored paper to be glued or taped to the head.

I also taped strips of cray paper to the bottom of the cups.

About 4-5 strips per cup.

And that’s it.

Duff Holiday Collection Review!

Part of the magic of Christmas is baking up all the different yummy goodies! Every year I make every kind of candy, cookie and treat imaginable. It is part of our Christmas traditions. When I saw the new Holiday Line from Duff Goldman By Gartner Studios. We were able to try the Holiday Swirls, Chocolate Snowballs, Holly Jolly Cake, Ginger Cookies and the White Icing. I was very pleased with all of the unique flavors and variety of products available from Duff. Duff doesn't just make cake mix or cookies they make fun unique products that are perfect for cooking up some fun with the kids.

The first thing we made was the Holiday Swirls because I had a great idea instead of circle swirls we decided to make Candy Cane shaped Holiday Swirl cookies. These were a hit with every person who saw and tried them. They really stand out, have vibrant colors and make a beautiful centerpiece treat for guests. I did have to adjust the cooking time by 2 minutes though so you may want to watch and cook them a little less if you make Candy Cane shapes instead of circles. These are sure to please guests,kids or even Santa!

Next, we made the Chocolate Snowballs, everyone loves chocolate so I knew these would be a huge hit. The kids loved powdering the "snowballs" with the powdered sugar. I loved the texture of the Snowball Cookies they were so soft and moist in the center. Duff's products are a step above all the other name brands; they just taste so much better.

Last we made the Holly Jolly Cake and yes I saved the best for last. The kids loved coloring the cakes different sections. I was so worried I would mess my Holly Jolly Cake up but I didn't. The directions were so precise and easy to follow that I had no trouble and the kids were even able o help with mixing, baking and frosting. The Holly Jolly Cake was moist, delicious and the frosting was so sweet and spread perfectly. The Holly Jolly Cake wasn't just tasty it was a conversation piece the whole family was asking how I made such a unique colored cake! The Holly Jolly Cake brings families together for baking, eating and fun during the holidays!

We saved the Gingerbread cookies to make Santa look for a post coming up to see if the holly jolly man himself loves Duff as much as we did. Magnificent Candles are so unique! If you are a fan of Elvis these candles are sure to be the perfect holiday gift! My favorite candle I reviewed would have to be the Burning Love Candle because of the great story behind it. The Burning Love Candle was said to smell just like Elvis, so W.D. Briggs the owner of Magnificent Candles investigated why people thought the candle smelled like Elvis. He found that the candle smelled like Elvis because it's scent is actually very close to the cologne Elvis wore. The Burning Love candles ingredients are actually very similar to the ingredients in Elvis's cologne. Magnificent Candles have a very long burn time and are all hand poured in the USA. Each candle has a very unique and different scent. Tender Love is a soft scent almost like Baby Powder and I really liked it. It smelled so nice that I put it in baby Sierra's room. My Review!

The Baby Bullet is a great addition to the family when you have a little one! I was really excited to give this a try! I mean I want my baby to eat healthy and to be honest now a days who really knows what is in the jars of baby food? I like that I can make and "add" my own ingredients. I feel like a safe mother this way! The Baby Bullet works wonders! It does each stage right, blended perfectly! I would highly suggest you giving them a try! You can store a weeks worth of baby food at once in the cups provided and have perfect meals blended up for baby. Start with applesauce that seemed to be Sierra's favorite!
